Positive Vs Negative

The ten day wait is finally over. We prepared ourselves as much as possible for either result. Positive. Or Negative.

I said before that I’m always one to get the bad news out of the way first, so here it is…Unfortunately, Willow still has not learned to jump through a hoop of fire.

But the good news is that our surrogate had a positive pregnancy test!!!! So, I think it’s safe to say that makes up for it. ;0)

It’s still way too early to let our guard down and celebrate, as this result is only based on one HcG test and generally speaking things are so fragile right now. For all we know this could result in a chemical pregnancy; But just getting to this place is incredible. Even if things take a turn for the worse, it gives us confidence that we can get through this.

We have another test next week and hopefully we will see the HcG levels climb at the appropriate rate. Until then, Frankie and I will stay cautiously optimistic. Fingers crossed.

Grow little embryo, grow!

    1. Thanks!! I looked online for some sort of intrauterine glue...but oddly I came up with nothing. Hopefully the little embryo will stick on it's own. :0)

    1. I know. It really came down to a difference in priorities. Mine was to get her to jump through a hoop of fire; hers was to wait until company came over so that she could go to the center of the room, plop down, and lick herself inappropriately. As always....her priorities took precedence.

Thanks for the congratulations, and I hope things are going well with you guys and your little one! :0)

  4. Congratulations you guys! So exciting. It just goes to show you that numbers aside, it only really takes one (or two) good embryo(s) for the magic to happen. Hoping your beta HCG numbers continue to multiple as expected. If you guys are interested in reading the tea leaves based on your single test result, check out www.betabase.info

    1. You're so right. And it certainly feels like magic right now. Hopefully it won't end up being too good to be true.

I know that the beta levels are pretty meaningless on their own....but I'm all over that website! Thanks for the link, and thanks for the congratulations. :0)

(And according to the site, if I'm calculating the dates correctly, our levels fall just over the median level for a singleton pregnancy. Keep it up!)

    1. Awe....thank you! Having people like you out there, who are so supportive and brave make it easier for scaredy-cats like me (and Willow) to get through this process. So thank you for that too. :0)

    1. Thanks guys! And poor little Willow. Something tells me having a baby around will not be the easiest thing for her. She has met a baby once...she slowly circled her before retreating under the couch. But hey, maybe if she has to compete with a baby for attention, she might be all the more willing to consider that hoop of fire. ;0)

  9. Super congratulations! See you in BKK in 8 months time :) (is it too early for me to start guessing gender?)

    1. Lol. Maybe a tad too early to guess. And also not necessary. You see, we live in "Witch City" (Salem, Ma...there was a witch hysteria here in 1692, and it's progressed into a liberal oasis since then :-p) and there are psychics on every other corner. Naturally we eventually gave in a visited a couple of them. But, all three times we went (Frankie twice, me once) the psychic said that they saw a baby in our future, and predicted the same gender each time. Who needs an ultrasound when you have reliable info like that?! ;0)
